NSSA provides off-season club-sponsored training opportunities for its youth, and assists its teams in finding appropriate training programs offered by private soccer trainers in the Twin Cities area.

NSSA is pleased to announce the continuation and expansion of training opportunities for players looking to challenge and build their individual skills with advanced technical training.  The programs are available for all soccer players in age groups U5 – U12 (to U16 for GK training) for the 2014-2015 soccer season.

Program descriptions and registration information are outlined below:

Program 1:  NSSA Mini Kicks (U5/6)

NSSA Mini Kicks is a program designed to introduce the game of soccer to 5 through 6 year-old players.  Players will be taught a variety of soccer skills using games that are fun and age appropriate.  NSSA’s mini kicks provides a positive learning environment where players are encouraged to develop self-confidence, build relationships with peers, gain an awareness of physical fitness, and most importantly a sense of sportsmanship.  NSSA’s main goal is to provide a positive soccer experience for every player in the program. 

Location:  National Sports Center, Blaine MN

Day: Sunday evenings

Time: 5 – 6 pm

Cost:  $95/Session

Field: A 

Program 2:  NSSA Jr. Kickers (U7/8)

NSSA Jr. Kickers is a program designed for beginning 7 and 8 year-old players.  Players will be taught a variety of soccer skills using games that are fun and age appropriate.  NSSA’s Jr. Kickers program provides a positive learning environment where players are encouraged to develop self-confidence, build relationships with peers, gain an awareness of physical fitness, and most importantly a sense of sportsmanship.  The players will also learn ball manipulation, positional awareness on the field, and basic defending in a semi-competitive environment.  NSSA’s main goal is to provide a positive soccer experience for every player in the program.

Day: Sunday evenings

Time: 5 – 6 pm

Program 3:  NSSA Jr. Elites (U9/10)

NSSA’s goal at the U9/U10 age group is to build players through technical development and creating scenarios where players need to make decisions.  A specific curriculum and ideology will be followed at all sessions in regard to the technical and decision making advancement of each individual player through technical ball-work and small-sided games.

Location:  National Sports Center – Sports Hall, Blaine MN

Day: Sunday evenings

Time: 7 - 8 pm

Cost:  $125 for 8 sessions

Girls: Field A

Boys: Field B

Program 4:  NSSA Elites (U11/12)

NSSA Elites focus is continued building of individuals through technical development and creating scenarios where players need to make decisions.  A specific curriculum and ideology will be followed at all sessions in regard to the technical and decision making advancement of each individual player through ball-work and small-sided games in a competitive atmosphere.

Program 5:  Goalkeeper Training (U11-U18)

The goalkeeper training program focuses on cultivating the technical, mental and physical skills necessary to become a top-flight goalkeeper. Players learn through instructional demonstrations, technical training and footwork drills. They also have an opportunity to apply the skills and concepts learned in match-like situations.

* To keep the ratio of Trainer to Keepers appropriate, specific schedules will be emailed to Goalkeepers separately informing players of their assigned timeslot by Wednesday, October 29th.  Younger ages will be slotted the earlier times.
