NSSA relies on parent volunteers for all operations of the Club. Several local soccer clubs have recently adopted "volunteer requirements" to prod parents either to volunteer several hours of their time or "buy-out" their volunteer obligation. NSSA would much rather recruit interested parents who are willing to support their children through keeping alive this local option for competitive sport. Please contact any board member (see Contact Us) or your team coach or manager to ask what you can do to help NSSA provide its soccer programs.

While registering your child online, you will see an opportunity to register as a volunteer. Please review the list of current volunteer opportunities to help your child and our Club.

NSSA has several volunteer needs. See below.

Boys Recreational Director Needed
Job Description / Responsibilities & Structure

The qualities the Boys Recreational Director would ideally possess are: strong leadership, organizational and communication skills, as well as a current knowledge of computer applications.  A working knowledge of our Recreational Programs would be desirable.  The primary responsibilities of this position include:

1. Oversight of the promotional and registration process

2. Recruitment of age group coordinators and coaches,

3. Oversight of the recreational team formation process (based on NSSA guidelines),

4.  Development of practice and game schedules.  (Scheduling assistance is available.)

This position works very closely with the Girl’s Recreational Director, as well as other NSSA Board and Committee members, i.e to coordinate field requirements, uniforms, and equipment needs.  There is a lot of support available to help the new recreational director get started and up to speed.

Because we fully understand the hesitancy of individuals to dedicate the time required for this type of position, we are very open to a plan that would have two or three co-leaders that would take a team approach.  If this can be arranged, the Board will provide an experienced “mentor” to oversee and support that team throughout the current season.

If you share our passion to maintain and build the recreation boys program or know someone who might be interested, please email president@nssasoccer.org.
