What is Academy:
An Academy is a pool of players or larger groups (usually two teams) who train together. Players will have a team assigned that will generally remain consistent with the goal to have balanced teams. In the event we are invited to participate in opportunities of varying skill sets, we may make a more advanced team and fundamental team. Our goal is to provide an optimal training and development environment that pool training provides. By training as an Academy, we have the best player pathway and opportunity to reach developmental milestones and benchmarks that also meet the growth and development of individual players within a team and age group scope.
Questions to help to determine if your player is a fit for U8 Academy:
1. Does my player enjoy soccer?
2. Are we interested in soccer three times per week, including games against other clubs in our area and teams in our club (within a 25-minute drive)?
*U8 Academy players do not need to be experienced or highly skilled to qualify for the Academy. We ask that U8 Academy players are ready to learn, work hard, and have fun in a competitive and elevated environment. 2013s are encouraged to participate in the U8 Academy with the majority of their age group. U8's who feel they are not ready for the U8 Academy should register for the U7/8 Jr Academy. The primary difference is fewer contacts per week, and games are inter-club only. The curriculum will vary slightly from the U8 Academy.
Players born in 2014 who are interested in joining U8 Academy NEED approval from the Director of Jr Academy.
