Joe Voeller Joins NSSA Staff

North Suburban Soccer is excited to introduce Joe Voeller as our new director of coaching (DOC). Joe will collaborate with Katelynn Fast and will assume oversight of coaching education, player development, curriculum and player placement for the club. Katelynn will move into a new role as Youth Director, primarily focusing her efforts on continuing to grow and strengthen our Junior Academy, Competitive Prep and U9-12 teams. Joe’s first day with the club will be June 1.

“NSSA has experienced tremendous growth over the last two years, particularly in our
young age groups,” says Mike Meloch, club president. “Having both Joe and Katelynn on the team ensures we have the leadership needed to continue the momentum and provide leadership at all ages.”

Katelynn, her husband Jacob, and Joe have prior experience working together both at the club and High School level. The Fasts were integral to bringing Joe on board with the club and are looking forward to working together. Congrats to Joe and Katelynn on their new roles!

Meet the New DOC
Joe brings a distinguished soccer background to NSSA with a playing and coaching career that spans youth, high school, collegiate and semi-pro soccer. He is currently in his fifth year as a coach for Augsburg University. Joe joins our club after a five-year run as U11-U14 Director at Tonka United, and he has also coached for Minnesota United, Minnesota Thunder Academy (MTA), Maplebrook, Minneapolis United and St. Croix.

Following a standout high school soccer career at Hill-Murray, Joe attended Marquette University for two years and Division III powerhouse St. Thomas for three years, where he earned All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors in 2006 and 2007 as well as All-Region Honors in ‘07. After graduating with a degree in English, he spent two years with the Minnesota TwinStars of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL).

Joe is excited to return to his roots in the northern Twin Cities suburbs, where he served as head coach of the Mounds View High School boys’ varsity soccer team from 2008-2012.
