Meet Brady Hicks, Our New Director of Coaching

Former North Metro / Boreal DOC brings deep experience to the club.

Brady begins his tenure as NSSA DOC after two years as the club’s U14+ Director.  His career has taken him throughout the Twin Cities with stops at Three Rivers Soccer Association, Maplebrook Soccer Association, North Metro Soccer Association, and Boreal Football Club before being pursued for the U14+ directorship at NSSA. Brady served as the Director of Coaching at each club – Three Rivers from 2005-2007, North Metro from 2015-2019, and then, he oversaw the merger of North Metro and Three Rivers to become Boreal in 2020. 


Brady has led soccer at the club, high school, and collegiate levels.  He served as the Head Girls Varsity Soccer Coach at Spring Lake Park/St. Anthony High Schools from 2005-2007.  His teams went 35-17-2 in his three seasons there, winning the Northwest Suburban Conference each year.  He was named the Section 4AA Coach of the Year in 2006.  Brady is currently the Head Boys Soccer Coach at Champlin Park High School, where his teams have gone 23-7-0 in his two seasons.  This earned him the honor of being named Section 5AAA Coach of the Year for 2022. 


In addition to his high school experience, Brady established both the Men’s and Women’s Soccer programs at Anoka Ramsey Community College.  He coached the women’s program from 2008-2020, with his teams going 106-57-10 in his 12 years.  Brady’s teams were NJCAA Midwest Regional Champions 8 times in 12 years, qualifying for the NJCAA National Championships in 2012, 2013, and 2016.  His 2012 team advanced to the Final 4 before finishing the season as the #3 ranked team in the nation.  For his efforts as women’s coach, Brady was named NJCAA Midwest Regional Coach of the Year 8 times.  Additionally, Brady was one of 3 finalists for United Soccer Coaches (USC) National Coach of the Year in 2012. 


On the men’s side, Brady coached from 2009-2020, with his teams finishing 125-50-10 in that span.  They were Midwest Regional Champions 9 times in 11 years, advancing to the NJCAA National Championships in 2011.  There they advanced to the Final 4 and finished the season as the #3 ranked team in the country.  Brady was named NJCAA Midwest Regional Coach of the year 9 times and was a finalist for USC National Coach of the Year in 2011.


Brady has attained several licenses through the United Soccer Coaches (USC), including Advanced National and Director of Coaching Diplomas.  He has served as an instructor for USC in various capacities.
